OTS Local Delivery will consist of local or regional meetings organized and hosted by OTS members. The objective of these meetings is to further the sharing of knowledge amongst oligonucleotide therapeutics researchers and cultivate professional development and networking. The society will support these meetings by funding grants of up to $2,000 per OTS Local Delivery program.

Program Requirements

• Proposed OTS Local Delivery events must be aimed at networking and providing professional development opportunities for local/regional researchers in oligonucleotide research.
• OTS Local Delivery events must include participants from different laboratories, institutions, or companies and organizers must make an effort to recruit attendees from diverse audiences, backgrounds, etc.

Funding & Selection Criteria

• Primary applicant must be a current member of OTS.
• Applications will be funded based on the benefit of the activities to oligonucleotide researchers and in particular, junior scientists.
• Applicants can request a maximum of $2,000 to support their program.
• Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and are reviewed twice annually, on March 15 and November 15 each year. Grants will be awarded one month after close of application period.
• Awarded grants must be used in 12 months after funds are distributed.
• Applicants can apply for funding annually.

Examples of Supported Local Delivery Initiatives:

• Local one-day symposium on oligonucleotide therapeutics or related topics
• Networking event (format could include speakers and/or poster session)
• Journal club or seminar series (including internal and/or external speakers)
• Professional development activities such as workshops on scientific writing, CV development, alternative careers, etc. targeted specifically to researchers in academia or industry
• Women in Science or related events promoting diversity in oligonucleotide research
• Discussion panels on trends in oligonucleotide preclinical research, clinical trials, or other relevant topics
